Haha, yes thanks Fav, but you guys kindly did all,the work!! Evan did the jacking and Billygoat the wheel! All I did was lift the spare out of the boot! GKW even repacked the tools into the kit under the spare.

But I might lose weight thinking about the cost of a new wheel and tire(s).

Thanks again for all the help guys. I will post a photo of the cracked wheel in the next few days.

Update on my broken rim after replacement of it and tyres.

Upon inspection this was not as straight forward as it seemed. It was not a problem with the wheel. Both rear tyres had reasonable tread but were worn almost through on the inside edge for only about 20mm width (sort of just the corner of the tyre).

Alignment check showed the "toe" was WAY out on both sides. Seems a big error by the suspension specialist who has Previously always done the alignment. Last time it was done was when I had sway bars fitted and then adjusted.

Anyway - left rear wore through and looks like tyre was losing air. Probably close to flat when I hit the not so large pot hole - hence the extent of wheel damage.

This was all quite dangerous since the narrow strip of extreme tyre wear was not easily visible unless actually under the car. Both sides were severely worn but the tread looked OK for about 260mm of the 275 tyre.

All fixed now.

Damn, now that is different. Great to hear you got to the bottom of the issue, just a crying shame it had to happen mate.

My bro inlaws tyres done the same thing and i told him to get it checked as well after replacing his 2 tyres on the Sat before the cruze.
I think i said to you when i saw your tyre Howard that it looked like the rear was toeing out whitch would cause that.
But all good now so it doesn't happpen again and dont waist the next set of tyres.
