This country is in so much trouble. We are run by muppets who are only interested in lining their own pockets and setting themselves up for life after politics. We have allowed them to sell off everything from our resources to our farms. God help us if war ever breaks out because we will have no capacity to look after ourselves

Absolutely agree Anthony. And for enthusiasts, the cost of parts for the European and US built cars will be crippling.

This did not have to happen.

I nearly shed a tear today when someone asked me about this.

It's not just part of our history gone, nor a brand I (and others) grew up with ands in, but a reflection on how Australia has been sold out by successive and current governments.

Yes I know we suffer "first world" problems re costs / wages as compared to third world economies where similar cars can be made at 1/5 of the price, but as noted by FAVSSS, we now have no heavy industry left, steel product is limited and we only crack 10% of our own fuel.....We are defenceless.

Sad day! While i undesrstand that but looking from a buisness point of year every company has that one or 2 products that dont necessary make money but they keep the lights on, so as to add to previous points its not just car industry we have lost but the multiple cpmpanys working quietly in back ground to supply mpulds lights parts that will now shut or lay off staff while they re invent them selves

So unemployment of these ppl potential of companys folding we may still feel knock on effects for years to come

Destroying your local raceway fortnightly!!!
