Post subject:  How do you wash your car?
As some know, I'm kind of fussy when it comes to keeping my cars clean. So I thought I'd ask the question of the forum,

"what's your cash wash / cleaning routine?"

For me, and I need a couple of hours for this.

1) Two bucket wash with Meg's car wash (the one with carnauba wax) using a lambs wool mit. Lots of suds. Late arvo as I have no carport with shade.

2) A good rinse down all over (no high pressure stuff) inc under the guards.

3) Start washing from top down, rinsing mit between each panel.

4) Lastly, with a different mit, wash the wheels and inside the guards as far as I can reach (long handled brush for the hard to reach spots)

5) Given car is waxed and washed with a carnauba wax wash, I can sheet most of the water off, then pad dry with waffle towel.

6) Soft terry towel to dry door jams, rubbers, (inc boot). Pop bonnet and dry any water present plus give the engine bay a wipe down.

7) Dry rims and tyres, diffuser and zorst tips.

8) Once dry, I use Finsh Kare FK-425 detailer to remove any water marks and also put a nice finish on the wax. Same product to get rid of water marks on glass.

9) Crack a beer and wait for the dust to start appearing...... :lol:

For me i can't remember as it's been a long time since iav washed my car.

Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class car wash in hot water and fluffy mitt shammy off and spray with VooDoo then buff.

Fair dinkum mate, if I even suspect a sponge is going near that new paint I'll be over to kick ya butt!

I do the same as Greg but use optium speed detailer and gloss enhancer after its dry

I learnt from the "Masters" being Kim and Anthony.

Come else, who else could convince someone to polish up the ABS module...Thanks for that Kim. My fingers were buggered for a week afterwards, but damn it looked good.

For my baby i'm using Meguiar's New Car Kit

I start from the top and work my way down with a sponge. I can't stand the microfiber wash mitt. I use the same sponge all over the car. I shammy the car down before using using Meguiar's Ultimate Quicker Detailer all over the body work. For the rims, i'm using Hot Rims Non Acid Wheel Cleaner and for the windows Meguiar's Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner. I also clean all the door seals, boot and bonnet plus a quick clean inside the hood. I also have a problem with finding shade so when i detail, i work in small areas at a time. I havn't done a proper wax yet on the body work. I'm leaving that for next weekend.

In saying that, i better get out there and wash and detail my car now.

Only thing I can suggest to you Dot is not to use the same sponge on the wheels as you do the rest of the car
