Nope. It wore out to the extent that the chrome contact strips on the track were worn through. Had lots of fun with it. When rally cross at Katoomba was on TV I even created jumps etc. and lots of mods to the cars. Even bigger electric motors.

As luck would have it, I still have my 70's era "Scalextric Super Speed" car set (complete inc transformer). Box is a little worse for wear, but all there.

I have no idea if it's worth anything as like yours HK, it got well used. It was the NASAR style track with banked corners, but we could still get them to crash off....Arh the fun. I also modded the set. When I got bored going in circles, I pulled the track apart and used the straits to make a drag strip...Even more fun. Wish I'd gotten into engine mods too then like you HK.

I use to set up my AFX track every school holidays in the garage. I had what started as a Bathurst circuit but then gained banked corners, over passes and sometimes jumps. I was lucky that my cousins were a bit older then me so grew my set as they didnt want theirs. I think I have over a dozen cars. Use to set up the pits with all matchbox transporters and crash recovery. Best part I can remember was flying of the edge and smacking in the roller door, I learnt very quickly to put them back together after doing that.
