Pre the start of the big cars, the Armstrong 500 at Bathurst was the fore runner to today's modrn classic.

Check out the safety features of the tow truck just after 9 mins.

Question if those cars were supposed to be stock standard how come the Cortina's had 120 Ltr fuel tanks in them?

Hahahaha!! It would have been great fun doing a circuit of the track mid race out in the open like that jus hanging on for dear life!! Yeah there is no doubt modern WHS rules are unnecessary!!!!!! No body fell off that truck or got injured in any way at all!! :-)
